Legends Aviation AcademyBrand Guide
Everything needed to keep Legends looking like Legends - logo usage, the aviation-red and gold palette, typography, voice, and the do's & don'ts. Built from the live website design system.
01 · Logo
The Legends mark pairs the aircraft silhouette with the wordmark. Red is preserved in both variants; the dark-variant text/lines are pure white, the light-variant text/lines are deep navy ink. Always use the variant that keeps text legible against its background.
Clear space & minimum
Maintain clear space equal to the height of the “L” cap around the mark. Minimum display height is 28px (digital) / 0.4in (print). Never recolor, stretch, rotate, add effects, or place the dark-background variant on a dark surface.
02 · Color
Aviation red is the hero. Gold accents the heritage. Navy ink carries the type. Cream paper is the canvas. Red should dominate; gold stays an accent - never let gold rival red for visual weight.

Primary red - usage notes
- RGB 200, 16, 46 · Pantone 186 C (approx)
- Primary buttons, the Discovery Flight CTA, hairline section rules, focus rings.
- Keep red on white or cream for max contrast. On navy, step to the dark red (#D92046).
- Red text is reserved for short labels and eyebrows - not body copy.
03 · Typography
A confident display face (Bricolage Grotesque) paired with a refined body face (Hanken Grotesk). Display for headlines and section titles; Hanken for all UI and running text; uppercase tracked Hanken for eyebrow labels.
Scale
04 · Components
Sharp corners, hairline rules, generous negative space. Red drives primary buttons and dividers; gold accents eyebrows and decorative rules.

05 · Voice & Naming
Do
- Speak like a mentor CFI - confident, warm, encouraging.
- Lead with heritage and personal mentorship (family-owned since 1989, KLAL).
- Use plain aviation terms; explain the one or two jargon words a new student needs.
- Be specific and honest about cost, pace, and aircraft.
- Invite action: 'Book a $99 Discovery Flight.'
Don't
- Don't use airline-corporate jargon or 'airline academy' framing.
- Don't promise fixed completion dates or guaranteed hire.
- Don't claim in-house financing - we refer to independent partners.
- Don't use purple gradients, soft pastels, or generic stock-cockpit clichés.
- Don't stretch, recolor, or rotate the logo. Don't place the dark logo on dark backgrounds.
Naming
06 · Photography
Real aircraft, real students, real KLAL flight line. Prefer natural Central Florida light, wide ramp and hangar scenes, and cockpit/under-wing detail. Avoid generic stock cockpits and over-filtered sunsets. Keep red aircraft livery visible where possible.
