Time Building That Doesn't Cost More Than the Certificate

As Low as $55/hr

Block rates on our Cessna 150 and 152 start at $80/hr dry and drop to $55/hr at 1,000 hours. The plane stays with you for the length of your block — up to a full year — and you can take it anywhere in Florida.

Every commercial certificate has the same wall in front of it: 250 hours. Most pilots hit that wall not because they can't fly, but because renting by the hour makes the math impossible.

Our time-building blocks are built to solve that. You buy hours up front, you get a lower rate for buying more of them, and the airplane is yours for the length of the block — not something you fight the schedule for every weekend.

- All rates are dry. Fuel is on you — we don't mark it up.

- Keep the plane for the length of your block

  • Six months, or a full year depending on the block you choose. It's not a reservation you renew every week — it's your airplane for the term.

- Relocate it anywhere in Florida

  • Base it where you actually fly. Take it to a home field, a job, a cross-country stretch, or a quieter airport — anywhere in the state, for as long as your block runs.(for 500hr and 1000hr packages)

- Split the block with another pilot

  • Two pilots, one block, one rate. Split it evenly and a 1,000-hour Cessna 150 block works out to $27.50 an hour each.

- No partner? We'll find you one.

  • We keep a list of pilots looking to split time. Tell us what you're after and we'll make the introduction.

- Maintained in-house

  • Our A&P mechanics are on the field, so squawks get looked at here instead of shipping the airplane somewhere and waiting. As long as you choose to keep the plane in KLAL.

How it works

1. Tell us your timeline. How many hours you need and by when. That usually points straight at the right block.

2. Pick your block and aircraft. 100, 500, or 1,000 hours in the 150 or the 152.

3. Decide whether to split it. Bring a partner or let us match you with one.

4. Take the airplane. Fly it from Lakeland or relocate it anywhere in Florida for the length of your block.

FAQ

What does "dry" mean?

The hourly rate covers the aircraft only — fuel is your cost. We don't add a markup to it, which is why the rate is what it is.

Do the hours expire?

Each block has a term: 60 days for 100 hours, 6 months for 500 hours, and a year for 1,000 hours. That's the window to fly them.

Can I really take the plane out of Lakeland?

Yes. Relocation anywhere in Florida is part of the 500hr and 1000hr block packages. If you're looking at something out of state, message us and we'll talk it through.

How does splitting work?

You buy one block and share the hours with another pilot. The rate doesn't change, so you're each paying half of it when you split evenly. How you divide the hours between you is up to the two of you, or you can buy a split package and only fly with another pilot with their own split package.

I don't have anyone to split with.

Send us a message. We hear from pilots looking for split partners regularly and we'll connect you.

Do I need to be a student at Legends?

No. Blocks are open to any pilot with at least a private pilot certificate or higher and a checkout in the aircraft.

Which one should I fly — the 150 or the 152?

The 150 is the cheaper way to log the time. The 152 gives you a bit more useful load and a slightly newer airframe. If the mission is hours, most pilots take the 150.

What if something breaks while I have it?

Our full time maintenance team is always available to keep you flying! If you have any issues give us a call and we will get it taken care of.

Ready to stop renting by the hour?

Tell us how many hours you need and we'll tell you which block gets you there for the least money.
